Check out Grandfather Mountain, the United Nations has singled this out as a nature preserve of global importance. Here you can cross the highest swinging footbridge in America, or if heights aren’t your thing just sit and relax while listening to the eagles and other birds cry out to each other. We have some of the highest waterfalls in the eastern United States, like Mingo Falls. A wildflower program keeps our highways looking beautiful.
